When to seek a brain consultation

A brain doctor consultation starts with understanding your concern and reviewing the information already available. Bring the actual scan images, their reports and any previous treatment advice.

  • A brain tumour or another finding on an MRI or CT scan.
  • A referral for a neurosurgical assessment.
  • Questions about a proposed brain operation or an existing diagnosis.
  • A second opinion about the options and the reasons for treatment.

Symptoms can have many causes. The assessment may identify a need for further tests or review by another specialist, including a neurologist.

Understand the options before deciding

Brain tumours differ in their type, location and behaviour. A consultation can help you understand what the scan shows, what remains uncertain and which next steps need consideration.

Depending on the diagnosis, options may include monitoring, further tests, surgery or other specialist treatment. Dr. Agarwal will discuss the information needed for an individual recommendation. A consultation does not automatically lead to surgery.

Prepare for your visit

Bring existing scans and reports, previous prescriptions and the questions you want answered. Consultations are available in Hindi and English. Confirm appointment availability and fees with the clinic before travelling.

YOUR QUESTIONS

Before you book

Does an abnormal brain scan mean I need surgery?

The recommendation depends on the diagnosis, symptoms and scan findings. Bring the images as well as the written report so the available information can be reviewed.

Can I bring a previous brain surgery recommendation?

Yes. Bring the recommendation, the original scans, relevant reports and your questions. A second opinion may agree with the earlier advice or identify other information needed.

What should I bring to a brain specialist appointment?

Bring previous MRI or CT images and reports, discharge summaries, a list of medicines and a short timeline of your concerns. Bring a family member if you would find that helpful.
